With the Home Assistant Plug-and-Play Set from Smattex, you get a fully assembled, configured, and ready-to-use smart home system. At its core is a Raspberry Pi 4B with 4 GB RAM, powerful enough to reliably and continuously perform numerous automation tasks. Pre-mounted aluminum heat sinks on thermal pads ensure silent and passive cooling—ideal for continuous operation in residential or technical areas.

The storage medium is a 128 GB SSD from Intenso , connected via USB 3.0. This not only provides fast access to system and user data, but also ensures a significantly longer lifespan compared to microSD cards. All required components – including the Home Assistant operating system, user configuration, and integration drivers – are already installed. All you need to do is connect the included power supply and network cable . You can then log in immediately using the credentials user: smattex and password: smattex .

The system is also equipped with the SONOFF ZBDongle-E , which has already been configured as a Thread Border Router . Thanks to the external antenna, the device offers a stable and long-range wireless connection—ideal for integrating Thread-based devices. Zigbee devices can also be controlled with a separate Zigbee wireless dongle. Whether sensors, switches, or smart lights: the range and reliability of the connection are significantly improved thanks to this solution.

The Smattex set impresses with its unique housing design: The custom-made housing is made of high-quality, temperature- and UV-resistant PETG , manufactured using a 3D printing process. The front panel, made of real cherry wood , is precisely laser-cut and varnished, giving the set a look suitable for any living space. An integrated wall-mounting option provides additional flexibility.

The system offers a wide range of interfaces suitable for a variety of applications: USB ports (1x USB 2.0 Type A, 1x USB 3.0 Type A), two micro HDMI ports for video output, a 3.5 mm audio output, a microSD card slot, and Gigabit Ethernet. Power is supplied via USB-C.
